England Rugby Midlands U20’s success for Bromsgrove 1XV coaches Dan & Chris

Bromsgrove RFC’s Director of Rugby Dan Protherough and 1XV Forwards Coach Chris Shipway have reason to celebrate, as they coached England Rugby’s Midlands U20’s to a victory against the North U20’s. The game, which took place at Staffordshire RFC, saw the Midlands team put in a dominant performance to secure a 33- 22 win.

One of our own 1XV players featured in the Midlands squad, 1XV prop Finn Haynes, who was selected to represent his region in the match. Haynes put in a solid performance in the scrums and was a key contributor to the Midlands team’s success.

Dan and Chris have been instrumental in the development of young players at Bromsgrove RFC, and their coaching expertise was clearly evident in the performance of the Midlands U20’s team. The win against the North U20’s is a testament to their hard work and dedication to nurturing talent as a win against the North hasn’t been achieved for 12 years!

Speaking after the match, Dan expressed his pride in the Midlands team’s performance and seeing Finn on the pitch. He credited the hard work and commitment of the players for the victory and emphasised the importance of teamwork and discipline in achieving success at this level.

Finn Haynes said the weekend of training that England Rugby organise is a great weekend to train & play with other Midlands U20’s players. The matches against the other areas are always of a high standard & encourages U20’s players in the Midlands to get involved next year.

Bromsgrove RFC has a strong tradition of producing top-quality rugby players, and the success of the Midlands U20’s team is a reflection of the club’s commitment to developing talent at all levels.

With Dan and Chris at the helm, the future looks bright for both Bromsgrove RFC and the Midlands U20’s team.
